Do You Love Mac But Need to Run Software on Windows? Here’s the Solution

If you’re in love with the beauty and simplicity of the Mac operating system but are bound to use Windows forever because of the type of software you use then you may feel like you have no options. Fortunately there are several options available so you can still get the Mac you want.

I have a 24″ Imac and absolutely love it. I started off as an Apple customer but had to change to Windows when all the work software I used only ran on Windows. Thanks to the new OS10 that runs on a Linux platform you can run windows on a mac in a variety of ways.

My personal choice is VMWare Fusion which gives you a virtual environment in which to run any operating system, not just windows. Programs called Parallels and VirtualBox do the same thing. I just preferred the interface of VMWare’s product.

You can also use bootcamp which lets you reboot your computer directly into windows or Mac, take your pick. However, using this method you can’t run them both at the same time. With the virtual method above you can run them at the same time and even drag and drop files directly from one OS to the other. How sweet is that?

I use the mac side of my machine for as much as possible. The windows side is reserved for 3rd party programs that are not mainstream (internet marketing type) and Quicken, which is the world’s best money management software for home use. If I didn’t need those programs so much I wouldn’t run windows at all. Mac is just far superior is all respects.

Kristen loves the mac environment. She doesn’t like Windows very much. She also enjoys writing about storage carts for the kitchen and reasons to can food.
